Sr. Systems Engineer for Technology Events

  • Do you currently or in the past worked via IT or Systems to set up a Technology trade show or other event in the capacity of a Systems or Network Engineer?

Our client’s Artificial Intelligence and Research IT Division needs your expertise to help engineer and build the future by taking advantage of this opportunity in the information technology discipline.

Your core responsibility is to provide excellence in IT technical support for conferences, conventions, meetings, and other events.

At these events, you will need to effectively provide technical support for things such as:

  • Research demos and advanced prototypes
  • Onsite setup of conference booths or conference calls and speaking presentations.

This involves end-to-end support of the following:

  • Initial planning
  • Setup and gathering of all required equipment and technical requirements from event organizers and demo contacts
  • Coordinating packaging and shipment of required resources to event location (think as a “Technology Roady”)
  • Onsite support and assistance during the event
  • Post-event teardown and reclaiming of technical and demo equipment.

Responsibilities:

  • Own the technology behind Sr. executives speaking engagements
  • The management you’re supporting utilizes research technology as part of their presentations, we need someone to own this all up. (No technology hiccups)
  • As a generalist is probably best as you really never know what technologies are going to come down the pipe. PC, wearables, VR, Tablets, Mobile, etc.
  • When this person is not dealing with the complexities of supporting the executive management, they own server and other related projects that don’t have near term deadlines
  • Plan and coordinate with event organizers and demo contacts to proactively ensure all technical support needs are addressed and to effectively provide onsite technical support assistance.
  • Onsite “end-to-end” technical support, including preparing all equipment needs, onsite set-up and assistance during the duration of events, and post-event teardown of equipment to ensure a successful event
  • Because of the wide range of technologies used in the process of conducting research and the need for solutions ranging from simple to complex across multiple information technology disciplines, this individual will need to be technically competent and comfortable working across a variety of 1st and 3rd party platforms, applications and devices. The technical solutions you provide will be driving the next wave of innovation for this technology giant
  • Providing timely delivery of technical customer service support for our large base of researchers, interns, developers, executives, and supporting staff
  • In-depth troubleshooting and analysis of existing and new solutions for various research and development projects along with general technical support needs for Microsoft AI+R’s Redmond facilities.
  • Maintaining, securing, deploying, improving existing and new network related servers, services, cloud services, devices and research applications
  • Provide support of new and existing server/service configurations leveraging the following Microsoft servers / services: Azure, Windows Server, IIS, SQL, Site Server, System Center products, FTP, SharePoint, Exchange, SMTP and CMS to name a few.
  • Evaluating and implementing additional software, hardware, configurations and applications as required by various teams to support research and development efforts.
  • Other support duties as required.

Minimum Core requirements 3 to 5 years for the following:

    • Demonstrated work experience in the Network and Systems engineering field
      • Preferred Cisco Cert, MCSE and or other Network/Systems Certs
      • Solid working knowledge of Layer 2/3
      • Wireless 802.11
      • Excellent Trouble Shooting expertise
    • Functional experience with Linux/UNIX and Apple operating systems
    • Working knowledge of Microsoft servers / services:
      • Azure
      • Windows Server
      • IIS
      • SQL
      • Site Server
      • System Center products
      • FTP
      • SharePoint
      • Exchange
      • SMTP
      • CMS
    • Some Development and or Scripting expertise that is current
    • Working exposure with: Windows/Android/Apple devices such as phones, tablets and wearables), Virtual and Mixed Reality headsets, and a wide range of other research and advanced prototypes.
    • Exposure to A/V and ideally larger events would be a huge plus
    • Comfortable working in dynamic and fast paced environment  Other Job requirements:
    • Effectively communicate both verbally and in writing to convey clear and concise information
    • You have a current Passport and can travel both domestically and internationally, and potentially work non-standard hours when required
    • Demonstrate a high level of professionalism and time management ability to effectively interact with a diverse group of researchers and support staff
    • Proficient problem solver – Intuitively able to reason, analyze information and events, and apply judgment in order to solve unique or complex problems.
    • Deep Analytical skills
    • Proficient interpersonal and written/verbal communications skills are highly valued
  • Travel minimum 40%
  • Compensation: Base range: $130 to $160k DOE Possible company Stock, Annual Bonus, 401k, Full Medical/Dental and other benefits.

US Citizenship is preferred, NO H1b’s, Canadian Citizenship is ok

You must live in the Seattle and or outlining areas, client will pay for relocation
