Sr. Cloud Tools Development Engineer Full Time Individual Contributor

Our client as a leader in the Gaming & Entertainment globally with over 350 million users is looking for an experienced Cloud Development Engineer with focus on build and deployment automation tooling.

This position will become a part of our “niche” Cloud Infrastructure Team that builds internal infrastructure, cloud services, deployment tooling and workflows to empower development teams across the company.

• This is an opportunity for creating a developer friendly CI/CD platform, working with Kubernetes, Helm charts and related constructs.

• You’ll get to work on real-world infrastructure serving hundreds of developers and millions of concurrent players.
• You will work together with the engineering teams behind the Clients Game Store, Online Services, and marquee games to ship great experiences for players and partners.
• The quality of tooling is high, your DevOPS background will be key as to building a creating tools being used by 100’s of this companies developers globally

You’re Responsibilities

• Design and implement state of the art deployment tooling for online game infrastructure
• Leverage emerging cloud technologies to provide self-service workflows that enable development teams to build, test, release, scale and support online games and services continuously, with high confidence
• Build applications to provide visibility and control of complex release workflows and deployments at scale
• Code artifacts and getting them deployed to Kubernetes clusters
• Operate this employers (as the new FTE) cloud platform, provide service owner support and participate in incident escalations

Minimum Qualifications

• The top 4 you must have: Expert in building tools, AWS Cloud, Kubernetes Development & Scripting in GO or Python
• Demonstrable scripting and coding experience with a variety of programming languages for automating tasks, generating reports, and creating tools (e.g. Go, Python, Shell)
• Administrative operator and workflow automation experience with CI/CD systems like Codefresh
• Proven experience with AWS and cloud infrastructure
  • Created architecture for a service running in AWS that serves businesses or the public at scale
  • Hands-on experience with network administration: VPCs, ACLs, subnets, peering, DNS knowledge etc.
  • Infrastructure as code experience with CloudFormation or Terraform
    
• Kubernetes domain expertise
  • Operating Kubernetes clusters with applications at scale
  • Experience of implementing deployment scripts with deployment models for Kubernetes services
  • Hands-on experience with Docker containerization
  • You are familiar with service meshes and secure service to service communications

Preference to candidates with:

• Hands-on development knowledge of CI/CD tools (e.g. Codefresh, Canary setup)
• Experience with RESTful services, and familiarity with NoSQL/SQL database concepts
• Familiarity with metrics and logging tools (e.g. New Relic, SumoLogic, Grafana)
• Experience with Linux and Docker internals
• Experience working on a globally distributed team
• Working at scale
• Passion for gaming
• Speaking Russian is a bonus

Work Location

• United States work remote from home until CV19 has been lifted then work at one of these preferred locations: North Carolina or somewhere on the East Coast. Client would pay for relocation if needed

Benefits/Compensation

• Base pay range from $150k to $225k plus bonus and other cash benefits that can make this financially attractive all based on DOE.
• Relocation compensation is available or you can work from your current location with travel back to HQ on a regular basis (Covid depending)
